About

The ocean is our life, our sustenance.
Our Polynesian ancestors have relied on the ocean for life and exploration. HoeToa was conceived from a desire to share our love of the ocean and it's arts - paddling, surfing, swimming, diving, fishing. The moana or ocean connects us to something beyond ourselves: our history, our community, our planet and each other.  In the Pacific all of our islands are connected by language, blood and waterways - we think that is a beautiful 'taonga' that should be shared and cared for in a Polynesian way.

Our aim at HoeToa is to continue to ensure that the arts our ancestors are kept alive in a uniquely Polynesian spirit. We also support the efforts of other individuals and organisations who continue to give back to preserve our local cultures and traditions.
